New Braunfels Electrical Inspections
Electrical inspections are a crucial part of keeping your home or business safe and functional. Improperly installed, damaged, or outdated electrical components can increase the risk of property damage or fire. Lowry Electrical inspects residential and commercial systems for observable safety concerns and components that may need attention.
Founded in 2005 by Andy Lowry, our family-owned and operated company brings over 20 years of experience to every job. Our licensed, insured, and certified electricians serve homeowners and businesses in New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. A contractor’s electrical evaluation is separate from an inspection performed by the City of New Braunfels or New Braunfels Utilities for permitting or meter-related work.

Family-Owned Electrical Inspections in New Braunfels Since 2005
An electrical inspection evaluates your home or business’s electrical system for observable safety concerns, damaged components, installation issues, and potential code-related concerns. Our electricians assess the accessible parts of your system and identify any conditions that may require repair, replacement, or further evaluation.
During the inspection, our electricians assess accessible components such as:
- Electrical panel and circuit breakers
- Exterior and interior lighting
- Electrical outlets and switches
- Fixtures
- Appliances
- Visible wiring, grounding, and service equipment
- Signs of overheating or overloaded circuits
When we identify a component that needs repair or replacement, we can explain the issue and complete the necessary electrical work. A contractor inspection doesn’t replace a city-required inspection when a permit or construction project requires official approval.
When to Schedule an Electrical Inspection in New Braunfels
Common reasons to call us include:
- Buying or selling property: A pre-purchase inspection helps a buyer understand visible electrical concerns before closing. A pre-sale inspection can surface issues early, before they affect the sale process.
- Planning a remodel or addition: Structural changes often affect existing electrical systems and can reveal wiring or capacity concerns.
- Recurring electrical symptoms: Frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or dead outlets can signal underlying issues that warrant a closer look.
- Older or altered systems: Homes and businesses with aging wiring or systems that have been modified over time benefit from a current evaluation.
- Commercial operational concerns: Businesses may need an inspection when electrical issues could affect building use, equipment function, or day-to-day continuity.
Because we offer a full range of electrical services, including installations and repairs, we can address repair or replacement needs identified during an inspection.
City of New Braunfels Inspections vs. Contractor Evaluations
The City of New Braunfels processes electrical inspections for construction and permitted work through its Building Division. Stand-alone electrical permits are available for both residential and commercial projects, and permit-status information is available through the city’s online resources.
New Braunfels Utilities requires an approved city inspection before its own inspection can be scheduled for applicable temporary or permanent electric meter connections. Our private contractor evaluation is a separate service. It doesn’t grant a permit, approve permitted work, or authorize a meter connection. If your project involves permitting, confirm with the City of New Braunfels, New Braunfels Utilities, or the responsible permitting authority which official inspection applies.
Electrical Inspections for Buyers & Sellers
If you’re buying or selling a property, an inspection can reveal visible electrical concerns before the transaction is complete and help you prepare for potential repairs. Keep in mind that an inspection reflects observed conditions at the time of the visit and doesn’t guarantee discovery of every concealed defect. A buyer or seller may also need to coordinate a contractor evaluation with a broader property inspection or permit review.
Whether you need a pre-sale evaluation, routine maintenance inspection, or repairs identified during an inspection, we can explain observed concerns and complete the electrical work you authorize. Contact our licensed, insured electricians to discuss the right next step for your property.
Call (830) 237-6219 today to discuss your inspection, or contact us online to schedule electrical services.
